Welcome to Grovely Wood
Grovely Wood is a small family run company based in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK. We produce a unique handmade range of toy stables-houses, farm buildings and accessories including our 4×4 Grover and our range of horses which includes the Keepsake horse, made especially for you from your photographs and horse mane cutting, the perfect keepsake gift.
The toys being produced by Grovely Wood were first produced back in 1999 for the founder’s two daughters. Both girls had a passion for anything involving horses and farms.
Our solid wooden toy range includes:
- A complete handmade wooden toy farm range
- Quality wooden toy horse stables and stable houses
- Handmade children’s wooden horse and cart toys
- Handmade bespoke toy wooden horses
- Keepsake horses and ponies
- Toy 1:10 scale model 4×4 Grover
All toys are 1:10 scale Birch ply wooden toys. The handmade toys come fully assembled, are hard wearing coated in beeswax and oiled.
Priding ourselves on quality
We pride ourselves on individually crafting each and every item by hand; delivering a fully constructed toy, made of real quality wood, complete and ready for years of play.
Our Aim
Our aim has been to produce a range of unique toys, all custom built and finished to a high standard. We endeavour to use solid brass fixtures and fittings wherever possible. Each toy is finished in at least two natural protective coatings of a beeswax and oil, which not only allows the wood to breath and retain its natural grain and beauty, but also provides a water repellent surface to stave off any accidental spillages!
Our toys aim to be as hard wearing and as serviceable as any good piece of furniture added to your home.

“My family and I first came across Grovely Wood and met Tricia and Emily at Blenheim’s Country File Live 2016. Our daughters were immediately transfixed by all the beautiful things on offer at the stall, and, having recently become godparents, we chose a Cow Barn and personalised pony (to match her mother’s childhood pony) for our goddaughter’s Christening present. We have been adding to her GW collection ever since, and each time the gifts are exquisitely made, beautifully packed and totally adored by their recipient (including a 4×4 Grover, horse trailer and another personalised pony). Emily was so helpful and quick to respond, and our order arrived very promptly and safely. They are always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate our demands! It’s our daughters’ turn next for some GW treats. Thank you Emily!
My daughters first saw the Grovely Wood stand in Badminton, it was love at first sight! A stop at the stand is still a Badminton must.
What fantastic beautifully crafted toys! They have been well-played with by both my girls and my pony mad nieces, and the still look like new. Solid and robust they are created to be heir loom pieces.
